Solar panels from SolarWorld, the largest U.S. solar manufacturer
for more than 35 years, now power the largest solar-electric
installation in the Caribbean nation of Dominican Republic. The
1.5-megawatt solar array sits near the runway of Cibao International

national commission of energy, called the solar project one of the largest and most ambitious in Latin America.

is an essential part of the region’s energy mix,” said Kevin Kilkelly,
president of SolarWorld Americas. “For island nations like Dominican
Republic, solar offers a clean and cost-effective solution to dependence
on expensive imported oil for power generation.”
The project
was developed and installed by Dominican-based Trace Solar SRL within
the framework of the country’s renewable energy laws, which use tax
incentives and net metering to encourage solar deployment. Trace
collaborated with SolarWorld’s engineering, procurement and construction
(EPC) division to design the system, which is composed of 5,880

The array is expected to generate 193,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity

Now in its fourth season
Now in its fourth season, T.I. And Tiny: The
Family Hustle has ushered in a new prototype for the Black family. On the VH1
reality series, rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris is hip-hop’s leading patriarch, as
he, along with his wife, Tiny (formerly of Xscape), works to keep his children
grounded and his family unit strong.
Imparting the wisdom he’s gained through his various trials and tribulations, T.I. is extremely hands-on with what goes on under the Harris roof, from teaching the kids how to pull their own weight with house chores to giving them pointers on dating. Of course, the rapper sometimes goes overboard, like on last week’s season premiere when he brought the entire family along for his son Messiah’s first date at Medieval Times. While there, T.I. tries to give his son some advice on wooing the ladies, but ends up making things rather awkward for the bashful 15-year-old when he signals for him to put his arm around his date.
Last season, T.I. raided his stepdaughter Zonnique’s (member of girl group OMG Girlz) music video and photoshoot to oversee her outfit choices, which he considered to be too risqué and not age-appropriate. “As a father, my obligation and responsibility is keep my sons out of jail and my daughters out the strip club, and that’s what I’m gonna do,” he said. Though his intentions tend to be good, T.I.’s often hilarious antics make for truly embarrassing situations for his youngsters. Coincidentally, those same antics have led the show to becoming a home run with family audiences.
While the hip-hop world knows Tip as the King Of The South, on The Family Hustle, he’s the King of family-friendly fun, and embraces his role as an average, overbearing father who brings a new spin on parenthood. In many ways, T.I. And Tiny has become the modern, hip-hop version of The Cosby Show. "I was just doing songs with people from my hood," says Juicy J, who issued nearly a dozen independent releases between April 2009 and May 2012. Connectors up performance for LED bulbs and fixtures
The DF57H Series wire-to-board connector is capable of delivering 2.5
amps of current in a small 1.2 mm pitch, 1.4 mm mated height
connector. A swing lock produces a clear tactile click to ensure the

Osram Opto Semiconductor is contributing its expertise as the project coordinator and market leader in light-emitting diode (LED) lighting for the automotive sector.
The aim of this joint project as part of the FMER "Integrated Microphotonics" initiative is to develop the technical framework for a new class of energy-efficient LED headlamps with supplementary traffic safety functions. This can provide the basis for adaptive forward lighting systems (AFS) that offer drivers and passengers increased safety. Improved safety will come, for example, from glare-free high-beam and low-beam that adapts to the speed of the vehicle. At high speed the range of the light is automatically increased. In city traffic, however, a wider distribution of the light can improve road safety by illuminating more of the sidewalk and margins. These functions are fully electronic so there is no need for mechanical actuators.
Osram Opto Semiconductors is bringing its expertise to this project as the project coordinator for the automotive sector. The semiconductor specialist has extensive know-how in chip and converter technologies. Osram's Specialty Lighting division will develop new electronic control gear for controlling the LED headlamp system. The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM) is contributing its expertise in interconnection technology and materials and Infineon Technologies is offering its experience in automotive electronics and LED drivers.
The automotive industry supplier and lighting specialist Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. will develop the entire optical system for the LED module and the headlamps and will build the prototypes. Daimler, a major engineering powerhouse in the automotive sector, will carry out the vehicle tests.
