It tops Melbourne's most expensive showbag

Organisers of the Perth Royal Show have unveiled the priciest bag at this year's event a $280 bag from gourmet patisserie Jean Pierre Sancho, which won the Lifestyle Food Channel's Best Bakery in Australia award last year and provides bread for Neil Perry's renowned Rockpool restaurant in Perth. The bag comes with foie gras, a gold macaron and two $50 vouchers for the bakery's upper-crust morsels. It tops Melbourne's most expensive showbag this year, a $200 offering from spa resort Hepburn Springs, which included seaweed collagen face cream, and Adelaide's $220 effort from Morish Nuts.Perth show goers this year will get the choice of more than 300 goodie bags, starting at $1 for the long-time favourite Blinky Bill through to foodie-aimed flavours reflective of Australia's growing kitchen obsession. The guilty pleasure of Krispy Kreme, a kids lunchbox from Harvey Fresh and a gourmet hamper from pasta maker Barilla were all among more than 80 new showbags.

Commerce Minister Michael Mischin said just one item from the 308 bags a plastic telescope - had to be withdrawn for safety reasons. He also said special focus had been placed on ensuring button batteries were properly secured following the death of a four-year-old Queensland girl in June after she swallowed a lithium battery."All items with button batteries were inspected to ensure the battery compartments were properly secured by a screw so small children could not access them," Mr Mischin said.Discount tickets are available from the perthroyalshow.au website or IGA supermarkets until September 28. Children 12 and under will get free entry to the show via state government funding.Linda Crothers said they were not even able to dress her brother in a suit for his funeral and had to leave him unclothed in a sealed plastic bag in his coffin."We had to leave him the way you, Hutchings, left him, without his clothes," she said in her victim impact statement read out at a sentence hearing in the South Australian Supreme Court on Wednesday."We were told he didn't have any face left to see."
